On Sunday 14 September 2014, the Feast day of the Elevation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross, two of our faculty members, the Revd Fr Constantine Varipatis (Lecturer in Pastoral Theology and Practice) and Dr Philip Kariatlis (Senior Lecturer in Systematic Theology), spoke at the Inaugural Seminar on the Life Changing Experience of the Cross organised by the Greek Orthodox Parish of St Stylianos, Gymea (NSW). The event had approximately 100 people participating; some important questions on the meaning of the Cross and suffering were addressed.
This will be an annual event and will give the opportunity to reflect on the saving power of the Cross and its significance for the world today.
