On Wednesday 4 December, St Andrew’s hosted a Course Information Session via Zoom in order to welcome prospective students from around Australia and abroad. Around 30 potential applicants joined faculty, current students and alumni for an introduction to the study of theology and course options for 2025. The session opened with prayer by the College President and Dean, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, who also welcomed all attendees and delivered the first presentation about the joy of studying theology. The Sub-Dean, Associate Professor Philip Kariatlis, delivered the second presentation and pointed out that theology is not just an academic pursuit but rather involves a personal transformation as the student encounters the living Christ in their academic journey. A short video depicting student testimonials was screened, and this was followed by a presentation by the Registrar, Fr Anastasios Kalogerakis, which outlined course information and study options. The event concluded with a time of discussion in ‘breakout rooms’ where the attendees had the opportunity to meet faculty members, introduce themselves, and ask questions. All in all, a very enjoyable and successful event.
