On Thursday evening, 1st December, St Andrew’s hosted an online ‘Open Day’ meeting via Zoom. About 25 potential applicants joined faculty, current students and alumni for an introduction to the study of theology and course options for 2023. The session was opened with a recorded message by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, College Dean, who emphasised to all that the study of theology is ultimately an entry into ‘the joy of the Lord’. In his address, the Sub-Dean, Associate Professor Philip Kariatlis, pointed out that theology is not just an academic pursuit but rather involves a personal transformation as the student encounters the living Christ in their academic journey. A short video followed which presented various student insights and testimonials about their time at St Andrew’s – a ‘life-changing’ experience by all accounts. The evening continued with the Registrar, Father Anastasios Kalogerakis, outlining the various course options and modes of study available to prospective students and concluded with a time of discussion in ‘breakout rooms’ where the applicants had the opportunity to introduce themselves and ask questions. All in all a very enjoyable and successful evening. For further information about studying at St Andrew’s please contact the Registrar on +61 2 9549 3100 or at [email protected].
