The College is pleased to announce that it will introduce “facilitation classes” in Melbourne as of early February 2019. This is a new endeavour by the College as an outreach to residents of Melbourne (and those across Victoria) who might be interested to engage with part time theological studies but who cannot attend lectures on campus in Sydney.
Prospective students in Melbourne and across Victoria will now be able to undertake a relatively short program of theological studies at undergraduate level (towards completion of the Diploma of Christian Studies) or postgraduate level (towards the completion of the Graduate Diploma of Theological Studies) without leaving their home state.
The program of studies involves 8 units in foundational theological studies delivered via distance (online) education over a two-year program cycle with each unit incorporating a set of facilitation classes.
In 2019, the units to be offered will introduce students to Theology, the Church Fathers, and the first millennium of Church History, all from an Orthodox Christian perspective.
In 2020, the units to be offered will introduce students to Biblical Studies and to the liturgical tradition of the Orthodox Church.
The facilitation classes will be held at the Greek Orthodox Monastery of ‘Axion Estin’, located at 7 Hartington Street, Northcote.
