On Tuesday 21 April 2015 (6:00-9:00pm), a public seminar on the theme 'Dreaming in the Ascetic and Philosophical Traditions of Late Antiquity' will take place as part of the course unit T8581A Church Fathers: An Introduction, offered by Protopresbyter Dr Doru Costache.
Two very good friends of the College will contribute to the seminar alongside Fr Doru, namely: Associate Professor Bronwen Neil, FAHA (Centre for Early Christian Studies with the Australian Catholic University, Brisbane) and Kevin Wagner (Notre Dame University, Sydney).
The first part of the seminar will consist of the following presentations: 'Dreams in Early Christian Monastic Literature' (Neil), 'Live Right, Sleep Right - The Role of the Virtues in Synesius' Theory of Dream Divination' (Wagner) and 'Dreaming and the Psychological Theory of Saint Athanasius' (Costache).
After a break, time will be allocated for discussions, comments and questions.
The seminar will take place in the main hall of the College. Free entry for all interested!
