Public Seminar: Christian Perspectives on the Environment

After his first visit, in 2014, the esteemed friend of St Andrew's, Professor Jonathan Wooding (Sir Warwick Fairfax Professor of Celtic Studies, The University of Sydney) returns to the College this semester. Prof. Wooding will offer the main address of a seminar hosted by the College entitled Christian Perspectives on the Environment.

Conference Papers

Two faculty members of St Andrew's offered papers at the eleventh conference of the Australian Early Medieval Association, held at the University of Sydney on 11 & 12 February 2016.

Professional Development Seminar for School Teachers and Staff (2016)

On Wednesday 27 January 2016, St Andrew’s hosted its third annual professional development day for the teachers and staff of the Greek Orthodox co-education private schools in Sydney: St Spyridon College (Kingsford), All Saints Grammar (Belmore) and St Euphemia College (Bankstown). In front of an audience of 200 people, the event was opened by the College’s Sub-Dean, His Grace Bishop Seraphim of Apollonias.

Call for Papers

The conveners, Professor James Harrison, Protopresbyter Dr Doru Costache, Dr Adam Cooper and Dr Mario Baghos, have released the call for papers for the seventh St Andrew's Patristic Symposium, to be held within the premises of the College on 23-24 September 2016. The conference will focus on the personality and contributions of Saint John Chrysostom.

Conference Presentation by Dr Philip Kariatlis

On Tuesday 1 December 2015, Dr Philip Kariatlis (Academic Director & Senior Lecturer in Systematic Theology) presented a paper at the Sixth St Paul's College Symposium, hosted at the University of Sydney. Dr Kariatlis' paper was on the subject of 'The Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Environment'.

Public Lecture by Chris Baghos

On Monday 30 November 2015, Chris Baghos (IT & Registry Officer) gave the fourth and final presentation for the third Christianity and the Arts series held at the Greek Orthodox Parish of the Resurrection of Christ, Kogarah. The presentation was entitled 'STAR WARS, Episode III: A Cautionary Spiritual Tale.'
