The Nineteenth Conference of AABS

'Dreams, Memory and Imagination in Byzantium' is the theme of the nineteenth conference of Australian Association for Byzantine Studies. The conference will be held at Monash University, Melbourne, from 24-26 February 2017. In the last two decades, the role of dreams, memory and the imagination in the ancient world and its cultural productions have come to receive increased attention, along with the importance of emotions in the Greco-Roman and medieval worlds.

ACU Strathfield Lecture on Celtic Spirituality

On Wednesday 13 April, Professor Salvador Ryan (Pontifical University, Saint Patrick's College, Maynooth, Ireland) will present on “Críost Liom”: Treasures of the Irish Christian Tradition at the Australian Catholic University, Strathfield Campus (The Function Room, Ground Floor, Edmund Rice Building).

Visit of His Beatitude Patriarch Irinej of Serbia & His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilochius of Montenegro and the Littoral

On Friday 11 March 2016, St Andrew's had the honour of hosting for a brief visit His Beatitude Patriarch Irinej, Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci and Patriarch of Serbia, as well as His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilochius, Archbishop of Cetinje, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, and Exarch of the Throne of Pech.
