Sophia Theodoratos is an Associate Lecturer in Biblical Studies (New Testament) at St Andrew’s. She is a graduate of the St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York, where she obtained a Master of Theology and a Master of Arts (General Theological Studies). Her studies focused on the Gospel of John, and the glory of a human being coming to see and believe in Christ, and worship in spirit and truth. Her doctoral work explores the figures of ‘The Apostle’ Paul and ‘The Disciple’ John in the second century writings of St Irenaeus. She is particularly interested in how patristic exegesis may be applied today to read Scripture in the Light of Christ. She has prior experience as a Chartered Accountant and international business professional, with a specialization in global sustainability.
