Curriculum Objectives

This Module aims at giving the student the skills for chanting the Epistle reading in the classic style using the Kliton.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

1. Understand the effect of the Kliton on the musical scale.
2. Apply the effect of the Kliton to the verses of the Epistle readings.
3. Chant Epistle readings with the elements of the Kliton and Accentual Rhythm.

Content

1. Familiarity with the Apostolos Book.
2. The Kliton (effect and melodical phrases).
3. Selected Epistle Readings.

Assessment Profile

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the Kliton and how it affects the musical scale, eg. quizzes.   
2. Perform selected Epistle readings, e.g. in class participation, and practical exam.
