On Thursday 21 May 2015, upon the invitation of Protopresbyter Dr Doru Costache (Senior Lecturer in Patristic Studies), Dr Guy Freeland (Honorary Member of the Faculty, former Senior Lecturer in Liturgical Studies and Scriptural Hermeneutics) delivered a lecture for the course unit T9685A Patristic Perspectives on Science and Theology. In this lecture, Dr Freeland adopted the hermeneutical model of the four senses of Scripture defined by Henri de Lubac in his Medieval Exegesis, Vol. 1, whilst exploring the specific competencies of the fields of science and theology and their possible intersections. The lecture was followed by a Q & A session.
