Curriculum Objectives

This Module aims at giving the student the skills for chanting the melodies found in various sacred services.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

1. Identify the hymns that are chanted within the various services.
2. Apply the basic standard melodies to the hymns found in various sacred services.
3. Perform the chantors part for various sacred services.

Content

1. Baptism Service.
2. Marriage Service.
3. Funeral Service.
4. Small Paraklesis.
5. Great Paraklesis.

Assessment Profile

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the structure and chantors parts for various services, eg. quizzes.   
2. Perform chantors parts for various services, e.g. in class participation, and practical exam.
