Dr Lydia Gore-Jones
Lecturer in Biblical Studies

Lydia Gore-Jones is Lecturer in Biblical Studies at St Andrew’s. Her doctoral thesis completed at Macquarie University dealt with two Jewish apocalyptic works as response to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple by the Romans in AD 70. She has taught subjects related to biblical history and Hebrew language at tertiary level. She had previously worked as radio journalist, translator, and teacher of English as a Second Language.

Dr Andrew Mellas
Senior Lecturer in Church History and Liturgical Studies

Andrew Mellas is Senior Lecturer in Byzantine History & Liturgical Studies at St Andrew's. In 2018, he completed a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Sydney on the emotion of compunction in Byzantium. Andrew has published various books, chapters and articles on the history of Byzantium, liturgics and hymnody, as well as presenting papers on these subjects at international conferences. He is also a member of the Australian Byzantine Choir.

Sophia Theodoratos is an Associate Lecturer in New Testament at St Andrew’s.
